There's a Meeting in the Ladies Room!

At Palazzo Puma, we are getting ready to undertake a bathroom renovation.  Actually THREE bathroom renovations, but the master is the most important one to me (my daughter, Sophiefabulous may disagree).  I am totally overwhelmed with too many choices and trying to compromise with Honey (who thinks he is Martyn Lawrence Bullard!).  Between houzz.com and pinterest.com, I've found lots of inspiration (see below)...now the hard part...making decisions.  I'll keep you posted on the progress...should start in a couple weeks.  Have a great weekend!

XOXO,
T.

Hermes Love!

A chance meeting in NYC in December, led to one of my daughter's favorite Christmas presents.  My BFF and I were noshing at Rue 57 and seated next to us was a fabulous woman.  You know the type...impeccable taste and effortless style. I complimented her on the beautiful scarf she was wearing.  She told me it was vintage Hermes, her father had given it to her when she was 18, and she has collected them ever since.
My own daughter, Sophiefabulous, is quite the fashionista and had just turned 18, herself. So I thought, "What a great Christmas tradition!"  Off I went (my BFF + Hermes addict in tow) to the Hermes store, in search of the perfect "first scarf".
There were SO many choices.  I knew I wanted something versatile and colorful, but most importantly, I wanted something that was "classic Hermes".  I finally decided on this one:

I spent the rest of December worried that she wouldn't like it. (I get crazy over too many choices!)  I even went to my local Hermes store when I got back to Charlotte, to see if there was one she might like even more. In the end, I kept it and she LOVED it!

She also collects fashion coffee table books, so I gave her the Hermes tome as well:

1209 Carre Hermes 420 1

     360 pages of gorgeous scarves.

And she got this fabulous green and white "H" bracelet, too:

And how great is this???  They gave her this little set of "knotting cards" with different ways to wear her scarf.

Check out these Hermes scarves as artwork.

I think for next Christmas, I'm going to  track down some vintage scarves and have pillows made from them.  Imagine the possibilities!  I'll keep you posted.

Think global, Drink local!

So hubby and I are invited to a wine tasting this weekend at the next door neighbor's house.  How  convenient! We can sip to our heart's content and safely skip across the driveways back home to Chez  Puma.  Our neighbors love wine as much as we do, but favor red more.  I, on the other hand, believe in spreading the love...white, red, I don't care...I'm an equal opportunity drinker!  Looking forward to the wine tasting...is it Friday yet?

It's Wine O'clock!

It's Friday!  You know what that means...It's Wine O'clock!  Time to enjoy the weekend and a little vino.  This weekend, my husband and I are celebrating our anniversary...19 years, baby.  I hope you'll find something to celebrate this weekend, too...especially the little things.  So whether you updated your status on a certain social-networking site, bought a fabulous new pair of shoes, or just survived another work day...CELEBRATE!  It's Wine O'clock!

Forget Candy, Give Me Shoes!

I'm giddy with anticipation for Valentine's Day.  I am lucky to have a fabulous husband (19 years this week!) who knows the way to my heart.  And it is NOT candy.  It is SHOES!  He does feel obligated to bestow the requisite box of Godiva Coconut Truffles, but he knows it's the shoes that make my heart go pitter-patter.  It even inspired a pillow I designed.  Come on February 14th!

Pattern Play!

It's that time of year when artists/designers are working around the clock creating new art and patterns in anticipation of the upcoming shows (Surtex in NYC in May and Licensing 2012 in Vegas in June, and maybe Brand Licensing Europe in October!).  Actually, we should be doing this year-round, and some of us do, but we really start feeling the crunch about now.

So I'm spending lots of late nights in my studio playing with patterns. And since my style combines diverse patterns and colors, it's a lot of trial and error, but SO FUN! Patterns can make a product.  Here are some of ours from years gone by:
